Panthella Table Lamp - Replica

The Panthella Table Lamp by Verner P. is one of the great design achievements of mid-century Nordic design. P.’s imaginative design is a result of his vision to create a lamp in which the base as well as the shade acts as a reflector. The organic, spherical form of the lamp emits a diffused soft glow, creating a pleasant room atmosphere. Elegant and uniquely beautiful, the Panthella Desk Lamp has a durable structure with a hidden light source, adding to the artistic visual profile of the lamp. Dating back to 1971, this remarkable piece is one of the classics of modern furniture design.

We produce this lighting classic in quality plastic and metal in pure white.

About the Designer

Verner Panton

Verner Panton

Verner Panton, born in Gentofte, Denmark in 1926, studied at Odense Technical College before enrolling at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen as an architecture student. He worked in the architectural firm of Arne Jacobsen and founded an independent studio for architecture and design in 1955. He first attracted wider attention with the geometric forms of his furniture designs for the firm Plus-linje. In the following years Panton created numerous designs for seating furniture and lighting.

Verner Panton's passion for bright colours and geometric patterns manifested itself in an extensive range of textile designs. By fusing the elements of a room – floor, walls, ceiling, furnishings, lighting, textiles and wall panels made of enamel or plastic – Panton's interior installations have attained legendary status. The most famous examples are the 'Visiona' ship installations for the Cologne Furniture Fair, the Spiegel publishing headquarters in Hamburg and the Varna restaurant in Aarhus.
